Cretan Rusks are PGI EU protected products have a long history and an indispensable role in the Cretan diet, renown for its health benefits. They are rich in fiber and nutritional value and free of preservatives. Rusks are double-baked pieces of wholegrain bread and are hard to chew. Greeks usually sprinkle them with some water to soften them up. Use them in salads to soak up the goodness, or top with soft cheeses, tomato, and olive oil (see our recipe for Dakos)
